The River

The Bulkley River has one of the largest, if not the largest wild Steelhead runs in the world. The river is blessed with over ninety miles of classic fly water.

The Season

Primetime for Steelhead is late August to the middle of November

The Fish

Steelhead from 5 to 30 pounds... These wild fish are well known for attacking surface presentations throughout the season.

The Lodge

The Bulkley River Lodge is on a remote section of one of the best Steelhead rivers on the planet located within the traditional Wet'suwet'en Territory. River-front access and no neighbors are great assets for a fishing lodge.

Melissa Moure

I was fortunate to grow up with a cabin on the Sunshine Coast where the ocean, fishing, and the outdoors deeply resonated with me from a very young age.  It influenced my entire future. I was introduced to freshwater fishing when I first moved to Smithers at the age of 18. My decision to move here was a lifestyle choice; to live a simple life and do the things I love. Fishing for steelhead was completely unexpected and has shaped a life I cherish and am proud of. I work amongst some of the most important and influential people of my life. Whitey encourages us all to live our passions, work hard, and have fun. This combination is exactly what we all do at the BRL. My home, the BRL, and those fish are the things that drive and motivate me to share this Bulkley Valley experience. I live and work in a beautiful place!
